How to Get There:

Drive west on Interstate 70 to Exit 147 Eagle. Go right through the roundabout and then turn left on Capitol St. Drive 0.75 miles through Eagle to an intersection at Brush Creek Rd. Continue straight through the stop sign and down the hill. Go past the Capital Hill Movie Theater and take a left onto Sylvan Lake Road. Then take the next right onto Eagle Ranch Road. Drive a short distance and look for Brush Creek Elementary on the right. Parking is available here.

Description:
Start at Brush Creek Elementary and Ride 0.5 miles on Eagle Ranch Rd to Seabry St. Jump on the bike path and ride about 250 feet to a fork. Turn right and ride the path up 0.30 miles behind some houses. Look for a doubletrack and bear right. Soon after, a singletrack will begin on the right. Turn here and pedal up through the pinion-juniper trees. After 0.40 miles this section will intersect with the Abrams Trail. The trail climbs steadily through the trees for 0.65 miles and then descends into Abrams Gulch.

Turn right and start climbing up the Abrams Creek drainage. After 1.5 miles the road goes through the trees and across the creek. From here, the doubletrack becomes steep for about 0.5 miles. As the climb tops out, turn right onto an improved dirt road (BLM 8380). Continue west for just over a mile. This section of the road passes through a gate - please leave it as you find it.

As the road crests a hill, look for a singletrack on the right. Take this trail, called Upper Scratch, and ride through the oak brush in a northeasterly direction. After 1.15 miles the trail exits onto an old doubletrack. Look for the trail to continue on the left. The World's Greatest Trail starts here. Riders will be grinning from ear to ear after the 1.5 mile descent. At the bottom, turn right on singletrack that ducks into a gulley. After just a mile the trail will intersect with a doubletrack. Turn right and ride 0.7 miles up and over the hill. The trail will exit near Brush Creek Elementary School in Eagle Ranch. Turn left to return to the start of the ride.

why such complicated instructions to the trail head? just park at Brush Creek Elementary, ride bike path up to Horton St. Turn right go to the end of the cul de sac, there's the trail!
