Below are directions on how to set up your web page,instructions
on how your friends and family can contribute, andincentives for
your efforts.

- Visit: http://www.active.com/donate/2011CERR
- Click on “Become A Fundraiser” across the top of the screen
- Create an Active.com account.
- Edit your fundraising page.
a. Create a title and web address.
b. Include a personal message for donors to give in the “Welcome Message.” The following sample text will be defaulted to display on your page:
“This year I have decided to challenge my cycling skills for a great cause and have signed up for the Colorado Eagle River Ride in Avon, Co. I’ve been training to make sure I make it though the course, but the real preparation for this race has been fundraising to support the cause I am riding for. Through outdoor activities and a core value curriculum, SOS helps youth make better decisions, gain self-confidence and make more meaningful connections with adults and their peers. SOS Outreach has a transformative effect on youth by using outdoor adventure education as a setting to teach kids valuable life skills. Please support me and SOS by donating to this worthy cause.”

a. Fundraising Page Details
- Include a title that reaches out to your donors.
- Draft a tagline that highlights what you’re doing.
- Edit the welcome message and personalize it to you.
- Create your unique web address.
- Set a goal for your fundraising.
- Invite your friends to donate through active.com. Click on the“Send Emails” link across the top.
- Use your online networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Myspace, other message boards) to push out your campaign and increase awareness. Remember, people cannot give unless they are asked.
- Click on “View Reports” to track the progress of your donation drive.
